Legacy
| Jackson had won the All Sports Trophy for the second year in a row. This award is given to the NIVC member school with the best overall performance in all nine sports. It took the mighty Tigers to break the domination of All Sports award by Penn who is the only other school ever to hold the award. It is too bad that Jackson has only one more year left. The Tigers were just beginning to pick up steam and receive state-wide recognition in sports.

Doomsday Tigers South Bend Tribune sports writers adopted the term "Doomsday Tigers" to refer to the Jackson athletic teams in their last year of competition.
But it came to be a term of respect as fired-up teams and fans faced each contest with the determination to go out fighting. |
