I was delighted to find that you enterprising Jackson alumni have created
such an interesting web site! Of course I clicked on Old Hickory and was
immediately transported to the mid-70's. I loved the description of "The
Music Man" production in the spring of '75, and I remember that I was brought
to tears by the dramatic marching of the JHS band down the aisle at the end
(I'm choked up just thinking about it).
We moved to Hilton Head Island, SC, in 1987, and I made the mistake of giving
all but two of my beautiful Jacksonians to the SB Salvation Army. This web
site will help me make up for that mistake. I will love hearing about my
former students. I taught English and advised the Old Hickory and Jacksonian
for all the ten years of Jackson's existence.
I was editor of a neat monthly magazine on Hilton Head for two years and have
continued to write all these years. I'm currently doing a "Novice" column for
the monthly Computer Club newsletter here and a nostalgia column for Palmetto Prospective, another newsletter. I would enjoy getting e-mail from any Jackson alum (or faculty member) who remembers me.

"...Your idea is great!! I am sure a lot of the other
Jackson teachers would be interested. Mr. Koellner, Mr. Harke, Mr. Dunlap and
others are still at Riley and can be reached through the SBCS e- mail. Yes -
go to it. Thanks for getting in touch with me."

I think of those days at Jackson often. I have also visited the AJHS site. Give my regards to the alumni. I am still teaching (at Riley), and have had many sons and daughters of AJHS students. I think I'll retire before I start having their grandchildren as students.

We, Julie my wife and I, moved to Green Valley, AZ three years ago. We love it out here. AS I tell many people,
I did not know there were this many good days in a year until we moved
out here. I play golf three times a week - year around and love it.
-
Would love to have you post a message on my behalf saying how much I enjoyed those years at Jackson.
I would enjoy emailing with anyone from Jackson who so desires.
Thanks Mike Wilson '70 who
spotted Joe at Sears...asked him if he'd been to the web site and then
gave him the address. Awesome!

"My
wife and I live in a great place in Florida. We play golf almost
everyday and we are enjoying the golden years. I would love to
hear from anyone that remembers me. After Jackson closed I taught
and coached at Riley for one year and then became head football coach at
Elkhart Memorial. We still run around with some of the old Jackson
staff. We all agree that those 10 years at Jackson were the best
years of our lives. We would love hearing from you."

"Greetings and
congratulations on an outstanding site. I was filled with nostalgia as I
looked through it and recalled many happy days of teaching at Jackson.
Good Luck to all of you." Jim Stebbins
