*Dean was the first faculty addition, replacing Mr. Lovin February '66.  Lovin was appointed band director at Clay High School.

After marching season, the band became a concert band which played in the auditorium and at some of Jackson's feeder schools.

Pep Band: ( '65 ) 15 members playing at football and basketball games.

Uniform Fund

Parents of band members took an active part in raising the $10,000.00 needed for Jackson band uniforms.

The initial goal was to put 100 uniforms on band members for the opening football game fall '66.

"The goal is high," said Mr. DeShone, but just picture the first game of the season in our own stadium when the Jacksonians march out in their new uniforms, and you'll agree the result will be worth the effort."  - Sept '65

NOTE: The holding company which built JHS made funds available for band uniforms which were delivered March '66.
